Age is a part in their system, yet a few years ago, Ronaldo expressed dissatisfaction with his valuation to Transfermarkt.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has 21 goals in 21 Serie A appearances at the time, including 11 goals. A lower assessment of £67.5 million than the £88 million Juventus spent to acquire him from Real Madrid in 2018 was assigned to him.

He was ranked 37th in the world and was so dissatisfied with his place that he went ahead and blocked them.

The scenario and how petty Ronaldo had been were described to The Athletic by Daniel Busch, the UK manager of Transfermarkt.

Busch stated: “I believe we posted a list of 10 players who were 33 years old or older on Instagram, and he (Ronaldo) was still in top place, but he said he must be worth much more.

“He first messaged our social media staff. When he asked why, they replied, “You are by far the number one among persons in your own age group,” and then they gave their reasoning. He sent some smileys before blocking us. I believe the price difference between Ronaldo and the next player on the list was between £30 and £50 million.

Not just Ronaldo, but Turkish club Fenerbahce also filed a complaint against the website, claiming that it had “negatively manipulated” the player ratings of its players.

In the most recent update in November, Ronaldo was valued at €20 million before he officially joined Saudi Arabian club AL-Nassr.
