Over the years, Chelsea Football Club has gained a reputation for making significant signings, and since Todd Boehly took charge as manager, the team has brought in over 15 new players. The club has invested substantial amounts of money during both the summer and winter transfer windows of 2022.

Following the departures of Kai Havertz and Mason Mount, Chelsea has already secured the services of Christopher Nkunku, a significant addition to the team. The French international will play a vital role in the upcoming campaign for the West London club.

However, under Mauricio Pochettino’s management, the team continues to monitor potential signings and aims to secure a few more before the summer transfer window closes. They recognize the need to address certain weaknesses within the team in preparation for the upcoming competitions.

Specifically, the Blues require reinforcements in the defensive midfielder and striker positions due to a lack of reliable players in those roles. With Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher primarily playing in more advanced positions, acquiring a capable defensive midfielder becomes imperative, particularly after the departure of N’Golo Kanté this summer.

Chelsea has shown interest in acquiring Moises Caicedo and is likely to pursue the move before the end of the summer transfer season. While the addition of Nkunku provides depth in attacking midfield, there is still a need to find a proficient striker capable of scoring over 20 goals per season.

If Mauricio Pochettino can strengthen these two positions during the summer transfer window, Chelsea will position themselves to compete for trophies in the upcoming season.
