According to rumours, Manchester United has cooled their interest in signing Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp after learning that they will have to pay 25 million euros (£21 million) for his services this summer.
Dean Henderson left the team on loan this summer to join newly promoted Nottingham Forest, where he has so far succeeded, and the Red Devils are now looking for a backup goalkeeper.
Trapp was also a possibility; the seasoned German shot-stopper was regarded to be a capable alternative that was reasonably priced, similar to Arnautovic.

Trapp stated, “As I mentioned during my first stay at Frankfurt, it’s always pleasant when rumors like this come out,” refusing to rule out a move.
“That appreciation is nice. But I’m unable to comment on that,” he continued.
The people in charge, though, are reluctant to let him go. Markus Kroche, a board member for Eintracht, stated at the same occasion that “there has been no offer so far and no contact with United,” and Trapp’s manager is also keen for him to stay in Germany.
“From a sporting perspective, it makes sense for me to want to keep such a fantastic goalie. He constantly shows up early for training and serves as a fantastic example. Oliver Glasner, the head coach, acknowledged that he did not make the ultimate decision.
They may now get their wish, according to the Telegraph, who reports that “top sources at United have indicated that Frankfurt’s appraisal of the 32-year-old – who has two years left on his contract – offers too great an impediment at the moment.”
Despite reports that Trapp is eager to transfer to Old Trafford, £21 million for a backup goalkeeper does seem exorbitant, and a move currently appears doubtful.
A third offer is expected to come in the next few days from the Dutch team for Ajax forward Antony, who is still up for grabs.
