Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been named the new head coach of Heerenveen, marking his debut managerial position.

At 40 years old, Van Persie steps into his first managerial role after retiring from professional football in 2019, concluding his career with his childhood team Feyenoord.
