On October 17, 1974, the revered Yoruba king, who is the 51st Ooni of Ife, was born.

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi ascended to the throne in 2015, succeeding the 50th Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.

Prince Joseph Olagbaju Adewole Ogunwusi was his paternal grandpa, and his grandfather was ba ráygbà (also known as Ooni Orarigba or Orasigba) jájá I, the 44th Ooni of Ife who ruled from 1878 to 1880.

Oba Enitan is married to Olori Naomi Silekunola, with whom he has a son.

On the occasion of the Yoruba monarch’s birthday, several renowned Nigerians have used various channels to express their support for him.

Queen Zaynab, the former wife of Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, recently opened up about how tough it was to divorce him.

Zaynab stated this in the interview. “It’s interesting to hear that becoming the first queen to divorce a king outside of Africa is a thing,” she says. Making such a decision required a great deal of courage. “I wanted to make a point about what I stood for.”
