Despite interest from various clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia, multiple reports, initially from Brazilian outlet Globo, indicate that Silva has agreed to rejoin Fluminense.

The deal with Fluminense will not be officially announced until Chelsea’s season concludes out of respect, as Silva is currently sidelined with an injury sustained in last weekend’s match against Aston Villa. Chelsea’s remaining fixtures include matches against West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth.

Silva is expected to finalize the contract with Fluminense during a trip to Rio de Janeiro in the coming weeks. He previously played for the Tricolor from 2006 to 2009 before earning a move to AC Milan.

Since joining Chelsea on a free transfer in 2020, Silva played a pivotal role in their Champions League triumph that season. He has since become a beloved figure among fans at Stamford Bridge, providing valuable leadership in a young Chelsea squad.

In preparation for Silva’s departure, Chelsea have been linked with out-of-contract Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo. However, they face competition from Newcastle United for the 26-year-old’s signature.
