President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized the appointment of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation Limited’s Board of Directors and Management (NNPC).

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, revealed this in a statement released on September 19, 2021.
Senator Ifeanyi Ararume serves as Chairman of the Board, while Mele Kolo Kyari and Umar I. Ajiya serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively, according to the release.
Dr. Tajudeen Umar (North East), Mrs. Lami O. Ahmed (North Central), Mallam Mohammed Lawal (North West), Senator Margaret Chuba Okadigbo (South East), Barrister Constance Harry Marshal (South-South), and Chief Pius Akinyelure are among the other members of the Board (South West).
The President has also directed the formation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation Limited, according to the statement.
“The NNPC Group Managing Director, Mr Mele Kolo Kyari, has, as a result, been asked to take all necessary efforts to ensure that the NNPC Limited is incorporated in accordance with the terms of the PIA 2021,” it stated.
The statement said the appointment of the new board takes effect from the date of incorporation of the Company.
