Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa, has stated that if Vice President Yemi Osinbajo exhibits interest in running for president in 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will back him.
Sule announced this Monday in Lafia, the state capital, at a meeting with members of the Progressives Consolidation Group (PCG).

Despite the fact that Osinbajo has not declared his candidacy for president in 2023, the organization claimed it was in Nasarawa to seek the governor’s support for the vice president.
Sule reacted by noting that Osinbajo will have support from APC governors and that he is a “sellable” candidate.
Our main concern is how we would continue to support the party after President Buhari leaves office. So, if you come up with the proposal, you know you’ll get my attention, as well as the attention of every progressive governor in the country,” Sule remarked.
So, if you’re planning to sell this man, keep in mind that not every commodity is marketable, but Osinbajo is.
“I pray that all of your hard work will not go to waste. It would be beneficial to our party as well as the country’s progress.”
Aliyu Kurfi, the group’s chairman, stated that if given the chance to become president, Osinbajo will make Nigeria a “better place for all of us.”
We’ve here to discuss a very serious matter, sir, the serious matter of political succession. We’re on our way, but it’s thanks to the vision of one of our elder statesmen, Nigeria’s Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo,” Kurfi remarked.
“We have gone over numerous records of activities, life histories, and, of course, political tendencies, and as an association, we have resolved to work toward the support of his candidacy.
“We took this decision because we feel, in all honesty, that we have a professional gentleman who, if given the chance, will not only continue Mr. President’s wonderful job, but, with the help of guys like you, will make Nigeria a better place for all of us.
Nigeria would benefit from his foresight in a variety of areas. He’s detribalized, and he’s a man who isn’t beholden to the tribal bigots’ superficial thinking.
“We believe we have found a gentleman whose only concern is Nigeria and Nigeria alone.
“We believe he is a gentleman with unsurpassed political acumen. As a result, we have every reason to sell him for Nigeria’s benefit.”
