The Nigeria Football Federation’s new president is Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
Gusau won 21 of the 43 votes polled at the NFF Elective Congress held in Benin City, Edo State, on Friday, beating out the other candidates vying to succeed Amaju Pinnick.
He couldn’t reach the mandatory 51% threshold, though, and a new election had to be called as a result.
Ex-international Peterside Idah didn’t withdraw from the RERUN competition, unlike Seyi Akinwunmi, Shehu Dikko, and Abba Yola.
As the 40th President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Gusau won the election with a grand slam, receiving 39 of the 40 valid votes.

Gusau was one of the three former executive board members that ran for office on Friday together with Dikko and Akinwunmi.
He served as the FA Chairman for every state.
Gusau is the chairman of the Zamfara FA and a member of the CAF committee. Despite not having played for a specific country, he has managed football in Nigeria and his state.
Gusau thinks the NFF requires new leadership with fresh ideas. He brags about improving the national teams through effective talent identification. “Once elected, my goal is to ensure that the Nigerian Football League grows and attracts sponsors.”
