Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to grant cash for private businesses to establish ranches in the state.
On Wednesday, Obaseki made the demand during a meeting with Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja.
“As you know, most southern states have approved legislation relating to open grazing, but Edo has not,” the governor stated after the meeting, “because we want to ensure that any laws we pass are rules that we can enforce.”
