Bailly, considering Ronaldo as the best player globally, believes that the Portugal captain could have made significant contributions to the team. In a conversation with The Athletic, the Ivory Coast star emphasized that Ronaldo deserved to feel valued during his time at Manchester United.
It’s worth recalling that Manchester United terminated Ronaldo’s contract following his critical comments about manager Erik ten Hag, some teammates, and the club in an interview with Piers Morgan over a year ago.
Reflecting on Ronaldo’s return to the club, Bailly stated, “Cristiano Ronaldo returned, the legend coming back. He was the best player in the world for me. Even upon his return, Cristiano made substantial contributions to the club, and a player of his caliber deserves to feel crucial. It’s unfortunate that he departed under the circumstances he did.”
