According to Gossipinfo, the Executive Chairman of Benue State’s Guma Local Government Area, Hon. Caleb Migirimga Aba, has been impeached by the council legislative assembly.
During a plenary session on Tuesday, councillors representing the ten council wards of the local government passed a vote of no confidence in Mr Aba on charges of document forgery and misuse of council funds.

The parliamentarians accused the chairman of falsifying legislative documents and illegally selling the local government’s interests in the Benue Cement Company without the legislative arm’s consent, as well as embezzling the revenues from the transaction.
As a result, the chairman was suspended for three months by the parliamentarians.
The councillors claimed that the suspension would allow them to conduct a thorough investigation into the situation.
The local government’s interim chairman has been named Hon. John Mark.
