Sam Aiboni, a front runner for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) House of Representatives seat for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, has been proclaimed the winner of the party’s primary.

Prof. Babatunde Akinsanya, the PDP Electoral Officer, announced that Aiboni had won the poll with 23 votes.

According to the results sheet obtained by THEWILL, Aiboni received 23 votes to defeat his opponent, Olubankole Wellington, aka Banky W, who received 7.
“We just finished the elections and he won,” his aide, Kennedy Salami, had stated. We were elected to the Eti-Osa PDP’s House of Representatives ticket. As a result, we’re moving on to the next step. We won 28 to 3 votes.” According to the investigation, the musician held a parallel Congress where he announced himself the victor of the party’s primary.
The musician turned politician, had in 2018, announced his decision to join politics. In the 2019 elections, he contested the House of Representatives seat under the Modern Democratic Party (MDP), but lost to Ibrahim Obanikoro of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Earlier in April 2022, Banky W again, announced on social media that he was aiming to represent the people of Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
He tweeted, “We must engage with Nigeria where it is, not where we prefer for it to be. In 2019, we planted the seed. In 2023, by the grace of God, and with your support, we will win the seat. The time for just talking is over. It’s time to #TalkAndDo. I hope I can count on you. We move.”
