Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, is “desperately hoping” that Alexander Isak will be available for Wednesday’s Premier League game against Liverpool.

Isak, a Swedish striker who was acquired from Real Sociedad for an estimated ยฃ58 million, was unable to make his debut against Wolves on Sunday because his work permit had not yet been approved.

Isak would be available at Anfield, Howe said in response to a question on Tuesday. “We don’t know, we still don’t know, and I still don’t know,” he said. I really, really hope that’s the case.

Gossipinfo Recalled that Cristiano Ronaldo, a striker for Manchester United, is refusing to go to Napoli.

Jorge Mendes, Ronaldoโ€™s agent, has tried to arrange for his client to move to Napoli, where he would be given a free transfer and United would agree to pay a large portion of his salary.

Ronaldo is reportedly allegedly backing away from negotiations, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
