I am very happy at Leverkusen with my players at the moment.” This statement underscores his dedication to his current position, despite the swirling rumors of a potential move to Liverpool.

Alonso also conveyed his surprise and admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s work at Liverpool, acknowledging the significant impact Klopp has had on the club. He expressed, “[It was a] big surprise in Liverpool, of course – for what Jürgen did in Liverpool, I have great respect and admiration.”
