Given Leverkusen’s trajectory towards Bundesliga glory, it comes as no surprise that Alonso’s name is linked with managerial vacancies at two clubs where he enjoyed illustrious playing careers.

Liverpool finds themselves in the market for a new manager following Jurgen Klopp’s confirmed departure at the end of the current campaign. Similarly, Bayern Munich is in search of a new boss with Thomas Tuchel set to depart the Allianz Arena.

Alonso, who made significant contributions to both Liverpool and Bayern Munich during his playing days, appears to lean towards a move to the latter if he departs Leverkusen at the season’s end. Reports from Germany suggest that Bayern is Alonso’s preferred destination should he seek a new challenge.

While there’s keen interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich to secure Alonso’s services, indications point towards a potential reunion with Bayern for the former midfielder.

Such a decision would undoubtedly disappoint Liverpool supporters who harbored hopes of Alonso returning to Anfield as Klopp’s successor. Ultimately, only time will reveal Alonso’s managerial path.
