Access Bank Plc has partnered with the Federal Government of Nigeria to give N30 billion in support for four million Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of its commitment to help women- and youth-owned enterprises in Nigeria.
Roosevelt Ogbonna, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, disclosed this to the media on Friday in Abuja following a meeting with Vice-President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa.
“This program reflects our long-standing dedication to diversity, and we are honored to coordinate our endeavors with the Vice-President’s Office’s directive to give women’s empowerment top priority.

“We appreciate the Vice-President giving us the chance to collaborate with the federal government. In fact, we are greatly motivated to do more by his support through this relationship and our shared belief in the potential of women.
Given that women and young people control more than 66% of Nigeria’s MSMEs, issues with mentorship, funding, and education are still common.
“We have designed four different programs to benefit no fewer than four million individuals and businesses across Nigeria in order to bridge these gaps,” the speaker stated.
The Office of the Vice-President’s Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, reaffirmed that the federal government is prepared to collaborate with the private sector in order to help SMEs.
Nigeria is prepared, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has told the world as much, opening our doors to collaborations that would benefit the people. Women are essential. We acknowledge that in order to promote growth, public-private partnerships are necessary.
“The timing of our collaboration with Access Bank couldn’t be more ideal. We are thrilled about the opportunity the program will present to MSMEs, and we anticipate it starting very soon,” Adekunle-Johnson stated.
In addition, Ogbonna emphasized that all recipients would receive the cash at a discounted rate. She expressed enthusiasm at the chance to expand Access Bank’s reach as it continues to contribute to inclusive and sustainable growth.
