Why I’m still unemployed – Former Super Eagles coach, Peseiro

Jose Peseiro has clarified why he remains without a coaching position months after leaving his role as head coach of the Super Eagles.

Peseiro stepped down in February when his contract expired, having led the Super Eagles to a second-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach indicated that he is still searching for the right opportunity. “Honestly, I don’t see myself coaching another team in Portugal, even though there are projects that interest me,” Peseiro told Portuguese news outlet Ojogo.

“So far, it hasn’t materialized. I have received offers to return to Portugal, but I haven’t taken them. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the country or our football.”
