Nollywood actress Toro Aramide has voiced her criticism towards her fellow colleagues in the industry for their behavior following the death of Murphy Afolabi, a late Nollywood actor. Aramide pointed out the inconsistency in their actions, highlighting that many of her colleagues who posted pictures of Afolabi after his passing failed to exhibit the same level of enthusiasm when it was his birthday just days before his untimely demise. This double standard, she asserted, is the primary reason she chooses not to form friendships within the movie industry.

Aramide conveyed her sentiments through a post on her Instagram page, stating that she now understands why she has made the decision to refrain from making friends in the movie industry. She emphasized that the industry is populated with individuals who engage in hypocritical behavior. In her view, some people are quick to share pictures of the deceased actor now, but they neglected to extend their wishes on his birthday only a short while ago.

Despite being promptly rushed to the hospital, he was tragically pronounced dead on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the age of 49. Afolabi was laid to rest the following day, Monday, May 15, 2023, at his residence in Ikorodu.

Following the news of his untimely demise, a wave of mourning swept through Afolabi’s colleagues, fans, and family members, as they came to terms with the loss of the beloved actor.

Toro Aramide’s comments shine a light on the issue of insincerity that can exist within the movie industry, where public displays of grief may not always align with the true nature of relationships and interactions behind the scenes. The actress’s decision to distance herself from such behavior reflects her yearning for authenticity and transparency in her professional relationships.
