In response to a social media video claiming responsibility for the conduct, the agency issued a statement late Wednesday.

The charges, according to DSS Public Relations Officer Peter Afunanya, are false and irrational.

According to Afunanya, there was no reason for Akunyili to be detained by law enforcement.

As a result, the public should be careful of false narratives spread by those who want to use it (the Service) to hide their crimes.

“These hostile elements’ efforts are already well known in the public sphere and to the astute observer.

Their desperate attempts to divert attention or use reverse psychology to deceive the public have become a stock in trade that has defined their patterns and trends.”

It is only a matter of time before the law catches up with the perpetrators, according to Afunanya.

The DSS stated that it is working with other authorities to find and prosecute individuals responsible for the breach of law and order.
