Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres has fueled speculation about a potential move to Manchester United after expressing admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimović.
The Swedish forward has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 25 goals in 22 appearances. However, reports suggest Gyökeres has become unsettled following Sporting’s struggles since head coach Ruben Amorim’s departure to Manchester United.
In a recent interview with UEFA, Gyökeres spoke about his footballing idols, expressing a desire to emulate the achievements of two legendary forwards.

“The players who inspire me are Zlatan Ibrahimović and Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said. “They went above and beyond what was expected. I want to do similar things on the pitch. My three best qualities are my physicality, my finishing, and often being in the right place to score.”
Ronaldo and Ibrahimović left lasting legacies at Manchester United. Ronaldo scored 145 goals in 346 appearances across two stints, while Ibrahimović helped secure a League Cup and Europa League double during his debut season with 28 goals.
With Amorim now managing at Old Trafford, reports suggest United are leading the race to sign Gyökeres, as Sporting grapples with managerial instability and inconsistent performances.
