Arsenal and Chelsea target Viktor Gyokeres hints at a potential return to England this summer. The 25-year-old striker has been in outstanding form for Portuguese powerhouse Sporting CP, tallying an impressive 36 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions since his club-record €20m (£17m) transfer from Coventry City in July.

Gyokeres has also provided ten assists in the Portuguese top flight and assisted twice in the Europa League, although Sporting recently bowed out of the competition to Atalanta. His remarkable performances have naturally attracted attention from top clubs across Europe, with reports suggesting that both Arsenal and Chelsea have had scouts monitoring his progress.

While Gyokeres remains focused on his current duties with Sporting, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a move in the future. “I don’t think much about the future. I want to win the league and the cup with Sporting. That’s where my energy is directed at the moment,” he mentioned to Fotbollskanalen.

Despite acknowledging the interest from other clubs, Gyokeres emphasizes his enjoyment at Sporting and feels no pressure regarding a potential transfer. “We’ll see what happens this summer. It’s not something I can predict. I’m enjoying my time at Sporting and not worrying about what’s ahead,” he added.

Gyokeres’ contract with Sporting includes a hefty €100m (£86m) release clause, indicating that the club is determined to retain him unless a suitor is willing to meet their valuation. Sporting currently leads the Liga Portugal standings, holding a narrow one-point lead over rivals Benfica and maintaining a seven-point gap over Porto.
