Veteran actress Sola Sobowale has explained how filmmaker Kemi Adetiba gave the movie industry a newfound fame.
Sobowale discussed her lead role as Eniola Salami in Adetiba’s King of Boys while opening up in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
Speaking about her relationship with the director, Sobowale said that Adetiba is more familiar with her than she is.

“There’s something about Kemi Adetiba. Kemi Adetiba will tell you who Sola Sobowale is. I don’t even know myself. Kemi knows me more than I know myself,” Sobowale said.
She added, “Kemi Adetiba brought me out. I will say it anywhere. I don’t mind if it sounds like a broken record. I will echo it. I will sing it. I will shout it. She brought me out.”
Sobowale added that she had to watch King of Boys despite the fact that she had never seen herself in a movie.
The veteran continued, “I don’t watch myself, but I had to watch myself during King of Boys.
Despite beginning her career in Nollywood in 1992, Sobowale rose to fame when she portrayed “Toyin Tomato” in Wale Adenuga’s Super Story in 2001.
However, Kemi Adetiba’s Wedding Party, which was released in 2016, brought the actress newfound fame.
But in 2018, Adetiba’s King of Boys catapulted the actress to stardom thanks to her strong personality and alpha female role.
The actress continued, “You know you can do something but that opportunity never came,” in reference to her part in the film.
