Marcelo, the Real Madrid legend, was in tears after accidentally causing a potentially career-ending injury to Luciano Sánchez during a recent football match. Luciano Sanchez, an Argentinos Juniors defender, suffered a full dislocation of his left knee during a Copa Libertadores match in Buenos Aires. The 29-year-old footballer’s teammates initially feared a broken leg, but a medical report from the club confirmed it was a full dislocation. Marcelo now plays for Brazil’s Fluminense.

During the match, Marcelo, renowned for his footwork and skill, inadvertently caused a shocking injury to Sanchez as he skillfully maneuvered past opponents. Unfortunately, in a sequence of events, Marcelo’s supporting leg landed heavily on Sanchez’s leg while in mid-stride, leading to the serious incident. As a result, Marcelo was sent off in tears, deeply affected by the unfortunate outcome, while Sanchez screamed in pain on the pitch. Concerned players from both teams surrounded the injured player. The incident occurred in the 56th minute of the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

@Esselguy: Speedy recovery Sanchez, Marcelo should retire.

nene_george: You’re supposed to be aiming the ball ⚽️, not his legs? Sue him and his football club tf 😢😢😢.

macanthonyofficial: I’m sorry for being insensitive!!!! Cause I played football as a defender, a winger and also a 9 and I can tell u that that stamp on his leg my Marcelo was intended. Change my mind !!!

queen_godwin001:  …& people still wonder why footballers are paid huge salaries weekly… some of this injuries are terrible 😣.

magamudi: Sportsmanship. For a man who has played the beautiful game at the highest levels for decades, he understands the implications for such a young lad. Well, football, just like other sports are a risky venture. I pray the lad recovers fully and/or gets a great severance package to enable him live fully.

en_vic: These are the unspoken beautiful moments of football. A certified G.O.A.T. like Marcelo weeping profusely because he realises that another human is hurt because of him. For those saying it was intentional, the human body is a very complex machine that can fail you anytime. We’ve seen much worse tackles that didn’t leave a bruise. I have faith in the heavily-funded medical personnel and facilities available to him. I wish him a quick and permanent recovery.

sparrowlion_: In like 5 months he’s back. Who remembers angel gomes from Everton. After 4 months he came back. Who remembers Demba Ba then After some months they’ll be back. That time shawcross broke eduardo’s leg he came back too. Ramsey came back too. He’ll surely be fine. Be back stronger and better mate ❤️🙌.

@boy_director: Please I don’t want to see the Marcelo tackle on timeline. Ruined my morning 😭.
