Roma manager Jose Mourinho has criticized his players for their ‘superficial’ approach following their 1-1 draw against Servette in the Europa League. Mourinho specifically directed his displeasure towards Houssem Aouar.

Despite taking the lead through Romelu Lukaku in the 21st minute, Roma conceded an equalizer five minutes into the second half, dealing a blow to their chances of topping the group.

He highlighted individual performances, pointing out, “There are players who once again missed an opportunity to prove themselves, for example, Aouar.”

Mourinho continued, emphasizing the inconsistency in players’ attitudes, especially those coming off the bench: “There are several who are on the bench and come on in Serie A with a great attitude, then in the Europa League they come on with this sluggish attitude, like they are not accustomed to being on the bench and then do not improve the game,” as he shared with Sky Italia.
