Breakdown
The round of 16 ties to be played on February 14, 15, 21, and 22 and the return legs to be played on March 7, 8, and 14 will be determined by this draw.
Similar to the group stage, teams from the same nation cannot face off against one another. Since Real Madrid is the only Spanish club still in the competition, they don’t face this issue.
The Pots
Six teams might be City’s opponents in the round of 16, but Paris Saint-Germain is the one they truly want to avoid.
Having defeated Maccabi Haifa 6-1 on the last matchday, Benfica, the Portuguese team, finished second in the French team’s group. Both teams are now even on points, goal differential, head-to-head record, and goals scored as a result of that outcome.
The Portuguese team triumphed as expected when the away goals scored became the next crucial element. PSG hasn’t yet won the Champions League, with their final appearance in 2020 being their closest approach.
