Real Madrid attacker Endrick has shared his thoughts on his playing time at the Santiago Bernabéu, admitting that securing a starting role in Carlo Ancelotti’s team is a challenge.

The Brazilian youngster spoke after Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille in the Champions League on Wednesday. Endrick, who joined Los Blancos in the summer from Palmeiras for a reported €60 million, was given his first start in the match but admitted it was a difficult experience.

While the 18-year-old was excited to be in the starting lineup, playing alongside fellow Brazilian Vinicius Jr., he struggled to make an impact and was substituted by Luka Modric in the 57th minute. Earlier in the game, Jonathan David scored the decisive goal for Lille with a penalty in first-half stoppage time.

Speaking to reporters after the game (via @MadridXtra on X), Endrick said, “Being a starter? It’s an incredible feeling because I’m at the biggest club in the world. Playing from the start is very difficult.”

Real Madrid’s performance was lackluster, as they struggled to break through Lille’s organized defense.
