Mason Mount, a standout for Chelsea, claimed that former teammate Fikayo Tomori should not have been dismissed by referee Daniel Siebert during their Champions League victory at AC Milan.
After just 18 minutes of play on Tuesday, Tomori, a former player and product of Chelsea’s development program, was substituted after pulling Mount back by the shoulder inside the box.
In the process, the England international also conceded a penalty, which Jorginho converted.

Mount, who benefited, is not pleased with the referee’s decision, despite the fact that some sports analysts, including former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, thought the red card was justified.
He’s obviously my friend; I’ve known Fik for a very long time, and I felt for him in that circumstance; I was gutted for him, Mount said on the club’s official website.

He was pulling me back, but I was running toward the goal, so I wasn’t going to fall, and I thought I might still have a chance to score.
“He pushed me back a little bit, but I feel for him for making that choice. I’m an honest player and I want to attempt to score a goal. It’s challenging.
“So I continued playing, failed to score, and then obviously the referee lost it and immediately awarded a penalty. I think I was a little taken aback at the time since I still passed and got a shot.
