Erling Haaland visited Signal Iduna Park once more this evening as a Manchester City player, but he played only 45 minutes against Borussia Dortmund.
City left for Thursday evening’s Champions League match in Germany knowing that they needed just a point to finish first in Group G.
Haaland made the switch from Dortmund to City over the summer, and today is his first matchback at his former club.
Following his marshalling by newcomer Nico Schlotterbeck and former teammate Mats Hummels, the 22-year-old had a quiet 45 minutes.
Haaland was replaced by Bernardo Silva at the halftime adjustment made by City manager Pep Guardiola.
Manuel Akanji, who just joined City from Dortmund, was brought in to replace Joao Cancelo.
Five minutes into the second half, BT Sport cameras caught Haaland sitting on the bench next to Jack Grealish and appearing less than impressed.

11 minutes into the second half, Phil Foden was carelessly hauled down by Dortmund midfielder Emre Can, and City were given a penalty.
In Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Brighton, Haaland converted City’s penalty, leaving Riyad Mahrez to give the visiting team the lead.
However, Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel made the correct judgement call and turned the winger’s penalty away.
