It appears that Chelsea is unable to avoid Anthony Taylor. After Callum Hudson-first Odoi’s goal for Bayer Leverkusen was ruled by VAR to be legitimate, the referee even had an impact on players who were going out on loan.

Leverkusen is currently second from the bottom in the Bundesliga, and that has been a struggle with just one victory in eight league games. They’ve only managed to score nine goals.
And to make matters worse, Anthony Taylor’s hold on Hudson-Odoi seemed unbreakable. The official, who isn’t exactly at the top of Chelsea supporters’ Christmas card lists, delivered the team another setback by disallowing a goal for one of its loanees. After volleying in to give his team the lead in the first half, Taylor was told by VAR to review a foul committed in the buildup and ultimately changed his mind.
After seeing the replays, it appeared to be the right choice, but Hudson-Odoi will now have to wait to score his first goal. Leverkusen conceded but were later given a penalty at the other end instead, which was then dramatically missed. It happened amid typical Taylor controversy. They would later lose 2-0 away after giving up two goals in the second half.
Taylor is still unwelcome at Stamford Bridge despite being on the right side of the Hudson-Odoi decision this time.
