“We began the game very positively. We controlled possession and played predominantly in their half. We had the momentum on our side, but there was a pivotal moment when Ben White had a chance in front of Manuel Neuer and we missed the opportunity to make it 2-0.
“That moment shifted the dynamics. In the Champions League, we can’t afford to give our opponents any openings, and we did so twice, resulting in punishment.
“That’s the major takeaway. The margins are razor-thin in this competition, especially when facing such high-caliber opponents,” Arteta conveyed to the media following the match.
