Two alleged armed robbers who were on the Jigawa State Police Command’s wanted list have been taken into custody by operations.
This was revealed in a statement made on Saturday in Dutse, the state capital, by ASP Abubakar Isah, the command’s assistant public relations officer.
He claimed that on December 12, 2023, in Kano State, the two suspects were apprehended after being pursued.

He named the suspects as Umar Abubakar, 23, of Dakayyawa village, Kaugama LGA, and Yusuf Yusuf, 25, of Katoge quarters, Kazaure LGA.
“A distress call was received at Dutse Division on July 19, 2023, at approximately 0230hrs. The report stated that a group of armed thugs, approximately five in number, broke into the home of Sunusi Hudu’m’ of G9 quarters Dutse LGA, beat him, and stole a black Honda Accord model from 2011, two plasma televisions, an HP laptop computer, and a Redmi Note 11pro phone.”
Thankfully, on October 18, 2023, three people were apprehended in connection with the offence: Umar Abubakar “m,” age 28 of Bompai Miller Road, Kano state; Yakubu Mohammed “m,” age 24; and Zakariyya Dahiru “m,” age 28 of Yalleman town of Kaugama LGA. This was due to a tip-off from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse.
During questioning, the suspects admitted to the crime.
A police spokeswoman stated that following a covert investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Dutse, all of the apprehended individuals will be arraigned in court.
