This achievement surpasses the previous record held by his teammate, Andy Robertson, who had 57 assists. Robertson initially broke the record in December 2022, surpassing Leighton Baines’ tally of 53 assists. However, a period of absence due to a shoulder injury allowed Alexander-Arnold to catch up and claim the record for himself.
The Burnley match marked Alexander-Arnold’s fourth assist of the current season and his tenth across all competitions. In contrast, Robertson, with 11 league appearances, is still awaiting his first assist of the campaign.

This milestone elevates Alexander-Arnold to the third-highest creator in Liverpool’s Premier League history. Steven Gerrard leads with 92 assists, followed by Mohamed Salah with 66.
Notably, Alexander-Arnold also holds the record for the most assists by a defender in a single Premier League season, achieving this feat in 2019 and surpassing it in July 2020 with a 13th assist. Despite a dip in form during the 2021/22 season, Alexander-Arnold rebounded with a strong finish, providing seven assists in his last ten games and concluding the season with a respectable total of nine assists.
