Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has disclosed that Victor Osimhen has made it clear he does not want to play for the club again.

Osimhen was unable to secure a move away from Napoli on transfer deadline day, despite strong interest from Chelsea and Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli. The proposed transfers ultimately fell through.

“The situation has been clear since the end of last season,” Manna told DAZN. “Victor expressed a strong desire not to stay or play for Napoli, and we tried to accommodate his wishes. However, despite reaching an agreement on terms, the deal didn’t materialize.”

Manna also noted that Napoli had signed Romelu Lukaku and retained players like Giacomo Raspadori and Giovanni Simeone, which was not guaranteed.

Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, but he may still secure a move to Saudi Arabia, where the transfer window is still open.
