The trade of Wesley Fofana between Chelsea and Leicester has finally been agreed upon.
As the Blues look to replace the void created by the exits of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger, they have already had numerous offers for the defender rejected this summer.
The manager of the Foxes, Brendan Rodgers, officially pledged earlier this month that Fofana would not be sold, but the Frenchman has since been dropped to the Under-23s after failing to show up for a practise.

The 21-year-old, a devoted Blues fan his entire life, now has a transfer fee that Chelsea and Leicester have agreed upon. Chelsea’s offer of £70 million with an additional £10 million in add-ons satisfies the East Midlands club’s long-standing need for a bid around the £80 million they received from Manchester United for Harry Maguire in 2019.
Ironically, neither of the two teams has Fofana available for their Saturday afternoon match at Stamford Bridge.
Fofana had a terrific first season in England in 2020–21, but his performances the year before were constrained by a broken leg he incurred the previous year.
