Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth has outlined the club’s reasons for signing Joshua Zirkzee.
The Premier League club announced the transfer on Sunday, bringing Zirkzee from Bologna in a deal exceeding €40 million. The Dutch forward has agreed to a contract running until June 2029, with an option for an additional year.
“Strengthening our attacking options was a key priority this summer,” Ashworth said in the statement. “We are thrilled to have secured a player of Joshua’s quality early in the transfer window.
