Tottenham Hotspur is considering a renewed pursuit of Wolves’ Pedro Neto as they actively search for a new winger this summer, according to information from 90min.

Since the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as head coach, Spurs have bolstered their squad with wide players such as Manor Solomon and Brennan Johnson on permanent deals last summer. Additionally, they hold a £15.5m option to buy Timo Werner at the end of his loan from RB Leipzig.

Sources indicate that Tottenham plans to bring in another winger for the 2024/25 season, ideally seeking a belated center-forward replacement for Harry Kane as well. Among the players under consideration is 23-year-old Pedro Neto, a long-standing target for Tottenham, who fits the profile of a versatile winger capable of playing on either flank or up front. Neto has expressed a desire to play European football at the club level.

While Wolves are not under immediate pressure to sell Neto, considering his contract runs until 2027, they would only entertain offers in excess of £55m, and sources suggest they could hold out for as high as £65m.

Tottenham also maintains interest in Raphinha, but reports of a £60m offer to Barcelona during the January window are said to be inaccurate. Raphinha is committed to staying at Barca, and for a transfer to happen, club president Joan Laporta would need to declare him surplus to requirements.

Tottenham is mindful of the need to plan for the succession of club captain Son Heung-min, who will turn 32 later this year. Son’s versatility has been evident this season, starting as a left-winger, playing as a number nine, and reverting to his usual wide role after Richarlison’s return to fitness.

If Son remains at Tottenham by the end of the 2024/25 season, he will be eligible for a testimonial, having completed ten years of service at the club. Notable former players honored with testimonials at Spurs include Hugo Lloris, Ledley King, and Bill Nicholson in the 21st century.
