Tottenham halted a five-game winless streak with an impressive 4-1 triumph at home against Newcastle United.
Spurs put an end to their goal drought, securing fifth place in the Premier League standings, while Newcastle suffered their second three-goal defeat in a week.

Cristian Romero, reminiscent of his Thursday goal against West Ham, saw his header from a Pedro Porro corner cleared off the line by Miguel Almiron.
Tottenham broke the deadlock midway through the first half as Son Heung-min, starting on the wing, maneuvered past Kieran Trippier and delivered a low cross for Destiny Udogie to tap in at the near post.
They almost doubled the lead moments later, with Brennan Johnson’s excellent cross finding Pape Matar Sarr on the penalty spot, but the opportunity slipped away.
Newcastle had a chance when Pedro Porro’s misplaced pass found Isak, who set up Miguel Almiron, but the shot lacked power and was easily collected by Guglielmo Vicario.
Spurs extended their lead with a second goal, as Son once again outpaced Trippier and set up Richarlison for a close-range finish.
Johnson came close to a third with a driven shot, narrowly missing the bottom corner.
In the second half, Tottenham secured their third goal when Porro’s lofted ball deceived goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, allowing Richarlison to control and slot home comfortably.
Despite hitting the post, Johnson’s strike didn’t cross the line for a fourth, while Son’s attempt from a Kulusevski cross went wide.
With less than ten minutes remaining, Tottenham earned their first penalty of the season as Porro slipped in Son, who was brought down by Dubravka. Son converted the penalty, sealing the victory for the hosts.
Newcastle managed to get on the scoresheet in stoppage time when Joelinton capitalized on a defensive lapse, sliding in a finish, but it proved to be a mere consolation for the visitors.
