Todd Boehly is the transferee from Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss to one of the four bidders. Wyss told Blick, a Swiss publication, that the sum given by Abramovich is quite expensive and that he is waiting for the perfect opportunity and price. Both parties are attempting to form a consortium in order to purchase the club, with the sale of the club to an American party through a hedge fund being Abramovich’s ultimate exit strategy.

It is not the first time that Boehly will have the opportunity to control the Blues as he previously made a £2.2 billion offer to purchase Chelsea in 2019 but the present owner rejected it.

Only these two names have been made public so far; the other candidates, who may do so before the deadline on Friday, have not.
