President Bola Tinubu gave security agencies instructions on Tuesday to search for and capture those responsible for the Christmas Day attacks in the Plateau State local government areas of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi, which resulted in the deaths of at least one hundred people.
“These envoys of death, pain, and sorrow will not escape justice,” Tinubu declared, denouncing what he described as a “primitive and heinous” act.
According to The PUNCH, armed men assaulted 12 towns in the Bokkos local government area, killing over 100 people. Three communities in Barkin Ladi LGA, which is home to the Plateau State Polytechnic, saw coordinated attacks that claimed the lives of over 17 people.

Survivors said that people thought to be herders carried out Monday’s attacks, which resulted in the eviction of thousands of residents and the destruction of property valued at millions of naira.

“President Bola Tinubu strongly denounces the horrific and vicious attacks that took many lives in the Plateau State local government areas of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi.
“President Tinubu gives the order for security services to enter the area right away, search the entire area, and find the offenders.
“The President also orders the prompt mobilization of relief funds for the victims of the barbaric and primitive attacks who are still alive, as well as medical attention for the injured.”
“These envoys of death, pain, and sorrow will not escape justice,” Tinubu promised Nigerians while expressing his condolences to the Plateau State administration and people.
