The CP further stated that following their attack on Thursday, the thugs returned to the location on Saturday, when security personnel drove them out and freed a 51-year-old victim who had been kidnapped.

He claimed that the thugs had to give over a Lexus Jeep along with other things including two pump actions, four improvised explosive devices, and sixteen live cartridges.

He declared, “The police have just found the third gang member’s body, bringing the total number of insurgents killed to three.”

Based on intelligence gathering, Sunday night’s action was executed. We started a manhunt for the gang after figuring out their route, method of operation, and point of origin. We followed them till we found them on Sunday in their camp in Ogboji, in the Orumba South Local Government Area.

“They conducted another attack on Saturday following the one on Thursday. We followed them until we found them because they believed that, after killing two police officers in the area, they would have a field day and no one would dare challenge them. We managed to free the 51-year-old kidnap victim throughout that procedure.

The Enugu State police men who paid the ultimate price were on a specific mission. The manhunt for the attackers and all state-wide criminal elements would go on.

“We implore the populace and vacationers to carry out their authorized activities fearlessly. We plan to release additional information on the subject shortly.

He went on to reiterate the command’s resolve to maintain state security.
