The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended three people for allegedly robbing the students of Gateway Polytechnic Sapaade, Ogun State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this to PUNCH Online in an interview on Friday.

Two pupils were reported killed and numerous others injured in a series of robberies that occurred at the institution between late November and early December of last year.

The administration of the school reportedly ordered the pupils to miss two weeks of class and suspended physical education as a result of these attacks.

Meanwhile, on January 8, 2024, Musa Adamu, Marasa Aliu, and Yahaya Muhammad were taken into custody by police in response to a report of a break-in at the home of some students in the Obalande neighborhood of Isara Remo.

According to information obtained by PUNCH Online, the police retrieved a 3 kg cylinder and around three mattresses that were thought to have been taken from the students’ flat.

Speaking about the arrest, the police spokeswoman said that following the break, some students found their apartments broken into and that belongings like their refrigerator had been taken, among other things.

After their recent vacation, the students came home to find their apartment had been broken into. A case of some stolen goods was reported. Adamu and two other suspects in the crime were taken into custody as a result of our investigation, according to Odutola.

At least eight accused robbers were detained in connection with robberies and deaths that occurred in the school between late November and early December prior to the most recent arrest.
