The Ogun State Police Command has detained three people for allegedly robbing some students of Gateway Polytechnic Saapade, Ogun State.

This was revealed to our correspondent on Friday by Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer.

According to Odutola, the suspects, Musa Adamu, Marasa Aliu, and Yahaya Muhammad, were taken into custody on January 8, 2024, in response to a report of a break-in at a student’s home in the Obalende neighborhood of Isara Remo.

Two students were killed in robbery incidents that occurred in the school between November and the beginning of December of last year.

According to reports, the administration of the school decided to suspend physical classes in response to the attacks and ordered the pupils to skip two weeks of classes.

According to information received by our correspondent, the police retrieved a three-kilogram cylinder and around three mattresses that were thought to have been taken from the students’ flat.

Speaking about the arrest, a police spokesman stated that after a break, some students found their flats broken into and that various belongings, including a refrigerator, had been taken.

After their recent vacation, the students came home to find their apartment had been broken into. A case of some stolen goods was reported. Adamu and two other suspects in the crime were taken into custody as a result of our inquiry, Odutola stated.

Prior to the most recent arrest, robberies and killings that occurred in the school in November and December of last year resulted in the apprehension of at least eight alleged robbers.

It was also reported that two Lexus cars and other items taken during some of the attacks had been found by the police command.
