Antar Laniyan
Antar Babatunde Laniyan’s birth is a mystery. He spent too much time in his mother’s womb. He was carried by his mother for 18 months. Anthar is a rare name.
Some folks took his mother to a prominent herbalist after he was eighteen months in his mother’s pregnancy. The problem, according to the herbalist, is spiritual.
They require a certain animal called an iguana, also known as Awonriwon or Anthar in Yoruba, to make her deliver safely and keep the mother and son alive.
People were skeptical at first, but they persevered. They got the animal, she ate it, and after 5 minutes, she went into labor.
She was able to deliver successfully, and neither she nor her son had any issues. He was given the name Antar because of his strange birth. His mother refers to him as Babatunde, and his father refers to him as Antar.

In 1976, he began his acting career while still in high school. He always participates in theatre competitions and represents his school well.
He aspired to be a soldier since he admires their discipline and pageantry. He’s gone to barracks and likes how they look and act.
However, when his principal called to ask what he planned to study after secondary school, he replied that he wanted to be a soldier. The man smiled and suggested that he try his hand at acting.
He went on to say that he had seen his acting career and that he would rather be an actor than a soldier. He was inspired to pursue acting after seeing a film at FESTAC.

He further said that he has seen his acting career so he should rather act than be a soldier. He got a passion for acting from a movie he watched at FESTAC.
He wasn’t allowed to enter because he did not have a ticket but he went to meet a cleaner, she helped him in order to watch the movie and it inspired him.
He began his professional acting career on June 18, 1980. Ben Tomiloju had him under his guidance. Mr. Ben was a teacher who took him after he graduated from high school.
He had a lot of them trained, and some of them became singers, actors, and scriptwriters. Some of them write about it, while others perform it. Mr. Ben pushed him to pursue a degree in Theatre Arts.
He studied theatre at the University of Ibadan and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. He met several folks who shared his interests at school and they banded together to act.
When he showed his father a picture of him in Sango, he was overjoyed and proud of him. His father, who is an educator, brought the photograph to his office.
Because of the photo, his father gave him the nickname “Anthar D Sango.” He became well-known as a result of the film Sango. On Friday evenings in Lagos, he would travel to a radio station, and on Monday mornings, he would return to school.
Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello) and Jide Kosoko are his industry role models. He stated that they began in the 1960s and are still active now. On location, he’s strict and disciplined, and he doesn’t take his job lightly.
