Following the ongoing gunmen attacks along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Nollywood actor Jnr Pope Odonwodo, often known as Junior Pope, has encouraged everyone planning to go for Christmas celebration towards the end of the year to cancel their plans.
According to news sources, gunmen suspected of being kidnappers on Tuesday attacked motorists on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The gunmen struck on the freeway on Tuesday just before Shagamu, according to one of the passengers who traveled on the route, and they were dressed in military garb.
They allegedly came out of the undergrowth and began intermittently shooting at a commercial bus carrying people.

Another passenger bemoaned the lack of police officers present during the gunshot, which, according to Punch, damaged the commercial bus transporting the passengers.
Reacting to the development via the comment section of an Instagram blog, the actor urged people to cancel their Christmas travel plans for the year.
According to him, things are no longer the way they used to be, adding that since the government is refusing to do something about the attacks, people should stay where they are and not bother to travel as the roads are no longer safe.
He wrote: ‘‘Since nothing has been done about this bane , I would advise everyone to just Dey where u Dey , No CHRISTMAS TRAVELING up and down….. Things are no longer the way they used to be..”
