Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has been linked with a potential move away from the club this summer. The 22-year-old Frenchman is highly rated across England, with Chelsea reportedly interested in securing his signature.

Recently, former Premier League stars Theo Walcott and Frank Lampard were asked to rank the top five wide players in English football. Both included Olise on their lists, but notably, they ranked Chelsea’s Cole Palmer higher, placing him in the top three.

Theo Walcott believes Palmer is superior to Olise. Reflecting on Palmer’s impact, Walcott said, “Third, he has to be three, he’s better than Olise.” Lampard agreed, saying, “Oh here we go, he’s number three.”

It will be interesting to see if Palmer is deployed in the wide areas next season, as Chelsea needs to bolster their attacking unit during the summer window. Signing a reliable attacker and adding quality to the wide areas are priorities for the Blues. Olise, with his potential to develop into one of the league’s best attackers, would be a superb long-term investment for Chelsea.

Both Olise and Palmer are prodigious talents with bright futures. With the right guidance, they could develop into world-class players. While choosing Palmer over Olise may not be surprising given his performances last season, both players have the potential to make a significant impact in English football.
