Zulay Pogba is firmly standing by her husband amidst the recent doping ban controversy.
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been handed a four-year ban for testing positive for DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone), a prohibited substance, in August. The decision, issued by Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal (TNA), adheres to the standard suspension duration outlined by the World Anti-Doping Code (WADA).
In response to the verdict, Pogba expressed his shock and disappointment, emphasizing his belief in the decision’s inaccuracy. He stated:

“I have today been informed of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping’s decision and believe that the verdict is incorrect. I am sad, shocked, and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me. When I am free of legal restrictions, the full story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations.
“As a professional athlete, I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against. As a consequence of the decision announced today, I will appeal this before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”
The ban, effective from the date of Pogba’s initial positive test, extends until August 2027, raising uncertainties about the continuation of his career, considering he will be 34 years old when the ban concludes. Despite this setback, Pogba has expressed his intention to appeal the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he aims to clear his name and present his side of the story.
In the midst of the doping ban ruling, Zulay Pogba, Paul Pogba’s wife, took to social media to express unwavering support for her husband. Posting a photo of Pogba on her Instagram story, she captioned it with a message of solidarity: “The truth will always prevail, stay strong like always mi rey” (translated as “my king”). As Pogba and his family navigate legal proceedings and await the appeal’s outcome, the footballing world anticipates further developments, with Juventus yet to comment on the latest ruling.
