The exclusion of Ibrahim Chatta, a renowned Nigerian actor, from the 2023 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) has generated reactions from fans and colleagues in the movie industry. Many of his supporters expressed their dissatisfaction with the award organizers for not acknowledging his exceptional performance in the film industry, particularly in the preceding year.

On the other hand, Funke Akindele, an actress, earned 10 nominations for her blockbuster movie “Battle on Buka Street,” receiving nine nods for the movie and one for her Africa Magic series “My Siblings & I” at the AMVCA.

Several fans utilized social media platforms to express their disappointment, stating that Chatta deserves recognition for his contributions to the Nigerian movie industry, and that he has been undervalued.
