Mr Ibu, a senior colleague in the Nollywood industry, has been chastised by Uche Maduagwu for his support for Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria’s former vice president, ahead of the presidential election.

After a video showing Mr Ibu and other actors drumming support for APC National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s presidential bid in 2023 appeared online, they were widely chastised.

This infuriated Nigerians, who accused the Nollywood stars of abandoning the people by doing so, claiming that they are all chasing their own pockets at the expense of others.

Mr Ibu, on the other hand, reversed his position in a video after revealing that Atiku Abubakar is his presidential candidate since he has done so much for him and given him a somewhere to stay.

In reaction to the statement, Uche rained insults at Mr Ibu for proclaiming his support for a northern candidate as an Igbo man. He added that the 2023 presidency belongs to the south.

Uche wrote:

Mr Ibu, Na as your face be Na so your confusion loud 4 endorsing Atiku 2023, Oga d presidency belong 2 South, stop drinking Fulani action mumu bitters
