1. Kai Havertz
Our third player is none other than Kai Havertz of Chelsea. Despite being an attacking midfielder by nature, the German international has spent the most of the past 18 months playing as the team’s striker due to circumstances at Chelsea. Although Aubameyang’s inclusion in the team has restricted Kai Havertz’s role as a striker this season, we are mostly considering his stats as a striker from earlier in the season here.
He started the first three games of the season for Chelsea as a striker, however he only managed to net one goal in that capacity. After that, Aubameyang replaced him, but whenever Aubameyang was replaced, Kai Havertz was the only one to assume the position on the field. In his ten games for Chelsea, Kai has played an average of 72 minutes, but, unfortunately, he has not yet racked up any assists.
2. Marcus Rashford
Rashford has played 11 games in the Premier League this season, logging more than 400 minutes as a striker (sometimes playing as a winger), and all he has to show for it are three goals. This is similar to Mo Salah.
If you were playing for a mid-table team, that would not be a bad total, but this is Manchester United. He is now on pace to end the Premier League season with a maximum of 11 goals.

Another player on our list who does not often play as a striker but does so for Manchester United. Mason Greenwood and Cristiano Ronaldo were Manchester United’s strikers prior to this season, but Greenwood is currently sidelined by several off-the-field troubles, while Ronaldo is no longer popular with Erik Ten Hag. Marcus Rashford is now the team’s first-choice striker as a result.
3. Mo Salah
Liverpool striker Mo Salah makes our list because we are only choosing players who have played more than 600 minutes in the Premier League this season. Although some could argue that Mo Salah is not a true striker, he occasionally plays higher up the field than anyone else in Liverpool’s system.
Salah’s performances in the upcoming 2022–23 season haven’t been as strong as they were in the previous one. In 11 games thus far this season, he has only scored 3 league goals. This statistic is sufficient to qualify for our list.
4. Diego Costa
I suppose that its inclusion came as a surprise. Some of you may be wondering how Diego Costa went from being one of the most intimidating attackers to play in the Premier League to one of the poorest performers this year. But the truth is that he has long since passed his prime.
Costa has made 5 appearances for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season, starting 4 of them, and playing an average of 65 minutes per game. That’s not too bad in terms of minutes, but he hasn’t managed to score a single goal. But even though his 2.4 shots per game may not be the best, they are respectable for a striker.
5. Neal Maupay
The former Brighton and Hove Albion standout is now a Premier League player for Everton. Maupay has appeared seven times for Frank Lampard’s team this season, starting five of those games, however he has only managed one goal. Since Maupay is not a particularly good goal scorer himself, this statistic shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, but his stats ought to be much higher for a man leading the lineup for a top Premier League team.
His 0 assists to date make for worse reading when added. In the most recent games, Maupay was benched in favor of the more dependable Calvert Lewin, and in Lampard’s opinion, this was only fair.
